The article I read is called Plan B- A Single Mom’s Decision To Go It Alone. This article is written by Alexandra Soiseth. The writer begins the article with her in the Dr. Bakas office for a medical procedure. Her desire to have a child has brought her to Dr. Bakas office to have intrauterine insemination which has a high success rate. She mentions that the sperm was bought from the Scandinavian Cryobank in Denmark. She mentions plan A. The writer’s friend has a wonderful husband by doing things to get married. Alexandra thought by following her friend’s hard work, sheer determination, and a little luck. She would have a child and husband too. This is slippery slope fallacy thinking that if you do what your friend has done you will be married with a child. This is not true. She talks of being alone, single, and childless for the rest of her life. This is hasty generalization. She is almost 40 years old. She can still have a child. She has the rest of her life to find the right guy. Alexandria feels pressure from parents and friends. She remembers her parents’ comments, when I was a teenager my parents said, “You’d better lose that weight or you’re not going to find a boyfriend. Alexandra thought her weight was a factor and she would not find a boyfriend. This is hasty generalization. Definitely not true. Most guys like heavier women.

Alexandra seeks out plan b to have intrauterine insemination. The medical procedure gives her a child after nine months. Kaj is long and thin — 8 pounds, 9 ounces. Although, this procedure does work for some women she is still without her original plan to have a child and husband. The writer admits although a child was born she realizes that rushing did not get a child and husband as the outcome. I think she should have been more patient and waited for the right man instead of rushing.
